UNICEF – Raising Clean Hands
Access to clean water, and provision of safe and hygeinic sanitation remains a major issue for people in many developing countries. The Call to Action for WASH (Water, Sanitatiion and Hygeine) in Schools is a global initiative led by UNICEF, supported by other UN agencies and NGOs, that calls on governments and concerned stakeholders to act on ensuring children have access to clean water for drinking and washing, separate toilets and washstands for girls and boys, education on good hygiene and healthy school environments. The UNICEF programme in the Lao PDR along with a group of international organisations working with the Lao govenment recently collaborated to produce Raising Clean Hands in Lao PDR, a key advocacy document for developing WASH in Schools in the country. I designed the publication.
